About Mesa MESA was founded in 1999 by Drs. John Mullins and James Foster. They recognized a need to provide rural hospitals with high quality Emergency Medicine care. After successfully improving the quality of care, efficiencies and patient satisfaction ratings in the initial two hospitals, MESA has rapidly grown based on our reputation. We now serve regional medical centers and hospitals in rural, suburban, and urban areas.
